The Coastal Edge East Coast Surfing Championships is a major professional and amateur surfing event for the WSL (World Surf League). Each year, several hundred surfers from menehunes to masters compete for East Coast surfing titles, prizes, history and the sheer love of surfing.
The Virginia Beach Jaycees plan, produce and staff the Coastal Edge East Coast Surfing Championships presented by Vans.
The Virginia Beach Jaycees is a part of the Virginia Junior Chamber (Jaycees) is the premier leadership training and community involvement organization dedicated to fostering leadership skills and personal development through projects in a variety of areas for young men and women age 18 through 41. We are non-partisan and non-denominational.
Our Mission: To provide development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change.
We the Virginia Beach Jaycees, a community service driven volunteer organization, are proud to host the 54th Annual Coastal Edge East Coast Surfing Championships.
We need your help to assist with: event set-up/breakdown, registration/check-in for volleyball, cornhole and 5K, operations, beer sales, beach clean up, etc.
**You MUST be at least 16 years old to volunteer. If you prefer to assist with beer sales, you MUST be 21 years of age or older (ID will be required).

PLEASE NOTE: Registration is currently closed, YOU CAN STILL VOLUNTEER!! If you are able and willing to volunteer, please come to the “Volunteer Check-In” tent located on the boardwalk at 5th Street directly behind Waterman’s Restaurant, Wednesday 8/24-Sunday 8/28 between the hours of 8am-6pm .
